Garbage contract

We need a comprehensive review on how our waste is handled in this city and region. It needs to be a reliable service for our community and we need to be able to process all garbage from residential, commercial and industrial zones. We need to also work with Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Belcarra and Anmore to create a superior waste collection system that can help our region move forward and utilize some of the emerging technologies in waste disposal and recycling.

One of the new technologies that I would like to examine further is from a Quebec company called Enerkem. They can convert garbage to ethanol which in turn could be used to run city vehicles and as well as other senior government vehicles (www.enerkem.com) A story was on the CBC National News recently and it was estimated that over three million cars in Canada could run off of this fuel produced by waste
